Synonymy: tatago Lafontaine & Mikkola, 2003 (Xanthia) flavago of authors; (not Fabricius, 1787) (Noctua) misappl. lutea of authors; (not Ström, 1783) (Phalaena) misappl. togata of authors; (not Esper, 1788) (Phalaena) misappl. Taxonomic Notes: Xanthia tatago Lafontaine & Mikkola, 2003 was previously assumed to be conspecific with the European species Xanthia togata (Esper, 1788) - Pink-barred Sallow.
