Distribution: Eurasia. Type locality: Europe Similar Species: 9274 Acronicta lanceolaria Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: • Simyra dentinosa Freyer, [1838] • Cucullia leucaspis Fischer de Waldheim, 1840 • Symira [sic] tendinosa Herrich-Schäffer, 1848 • Simyra zeliha Kornosor & Lödl, 1991 Taxonomic Notes: Acronicta dentinosa (Freyer, 1839) was introduced as a bio-control agent of Euphorbia esula in Elko Co., NV in 1994 (Kadrmas & Johnson 1994). Establishment of a breeding population is uncertain (Schmidt & Anweiler 2020).
