Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Chenopodium Plantago Taraxacum Vernonia.  Host genera: Chenopodium Plantago Taraxacum Vernonia.  Host extended: Chenopodium, Plantago, Taraxacum, Vernonia.  Host extended: polyphagous on low plants (Forbes 1960); general herbaceous vegetation, particularly Asteraceae (Cra.  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: parthenice (Kirby, 1837) (Callimorpha) - MONA 1983: 8196 approximata (Stretch, 1885) (Arctia) circa (Stretch, 1906) (Arctia) intermedia (Stretch, 1873) (Arctia) saundersii (Grote, 1864) (Arctia) stretchii (Grote, 1875) (Arctia) Taxonomic Notes: Apantesis parthenice (Kirby, 1837) was formerly in the genus Grammia, Systematic Entomology: 41(4): 844-853.
