Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: marcescaria Guenée [1858] (Halia) - MONA 1983: 6323 cineraria Packard 1871 (Halia) Taxonomic Notes: Macaria marcescaria (Guenée, [1858]), formerly placed in the genus Itame in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) and in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), is returned to genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002).
