Description/ Field Marks: Upper surface of the hindwing and the abdomen usually gray or brownish-gray (Neunzig 2003). Similar Species: Ambesa mirabella Dyar, 1908 has upper surface of the hindwing and the abdomen distinctly ochreous vs. gray or brownish-gray of walsinghami. Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: walsinghami (Ragonot, 1887) (Pristophora) - MONA 1983: 5760   Type locality: California. monodon Dyar, 1913 (Ambesa)   Type locality: Stockton, UT.
