Distribution: Type locality (rubricata): nr. Waco, McLennan Co., TX. Type locality (smithorum): Marfa-Alpine, TX. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: • Euptychia rubricata (s. str.) Edwards, 1871 • Megisto smithorum Wind, 1946 Taxonomic Notes: Cissia rubricata (Edwards, 1871), n. comb. (Zacca et al. 2018), was formerly in the genus Megisto.
