Taxonomic Notes: Phyciodes cocyta (Cramer, [1777]), formerly a synonym of Phyciodes tharos (Drury, 1773) in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist), includes as subspecies P. c. cocyta, selenis, diminutor, incognitus, pascoensis, and arenacolor in Pelham (2008). P. diminutor and P. incognitus are raised to full species status in Zhang et al. (2022).
