  • Taxonomic Notes: Pterourus eurymedon (Lucas, [1852] 1805) was formerly placed in the genus Papilio. The name Pterourus was treated as a valid genus in Miller & Brown (1981) and as a synonym of Papilio in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist). Subsequent authors, i. e. Tyler et al. (1994), Lamas (2004), Shiraiwa & Grishin (2014), and Pelham (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023) have retained Pterourus as valid.
