Synonymy: Cochylis ringsi Metzler, 1999
Taxonomic Notes: Aethes ringsi (Metzler, 1999), n. sp., Great Lakes Ent. 32: 191. This species was formerly in the genus Cochylis and transferred to Aethes in Brown (2019), Zootaxa, 4671(2): 217.
