| Similar Species: |
- 51a0436 Platynota rostrana: and.
- 51a0443 Platynota flavedana: are similar. The two species can be distinguished easily from each other by the scaling on the head - with a complex “hood” in rostrana, a simple one in flavedana - difficult to see well in photographs. See Platynota comparisons for larger photos and comparison with P. idaeusalis. ~ contributed by John Brown.
