Tortricidae
51a0056 – 3556   Acleris nigrolinea (Robinson, 1869)

© Anthony W. Thomas - - gen.
Distribution: Type locality: "Canada West" [Ontario].
Similar Species:
  • Acleris maximana is separated by genitalia.
  • Acleris disputabilis is separated by genitalia.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy: Teras nigrolinea Robinson, 1869
Taxonomic Notes: Acleris nigrolinea (Robinson, 1869) included as synonyms A. ferruginiguttana Fernald, 1882 and A. disputabilis Obraztsov, 1963 in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) following Powell (1964). However, that treatment would seem to be superseded by Razowski (1966) which treats A. disputabilis as a valid species with A. n. var. ferruginiguttana McDunnough 1934 as a synonym and ferruginiguttana as nomen dubium, an unrecognized species.
