Similar Species:
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • obtusana (Eversmann, 1844) (Teras) extralim.
  • ssp. a. fuscana (Barnes & Busck, 1920) (Peronea); TL: Canada. "Manitoba, Aweme".
  • obligatoria of authors; not Park & Razowski, 1991 (Acleris) misappl.
  • Taxonomic Notes: Acleris obtusana (Eversmann, 1844) includes as a subspecies Acleris fuscana (Barnes & Busck, 1920) in Kyrki (1982). This treatment was apparently overlooked in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) but followed by Razowski (2002). A. obtusana includes as a synonym Acleris obligatoria of authors; not Park & Razowski, 1991, a name misapplied to A. fuscana in Pohl et al., 2004. The subspecies obtusana is apparently restricted to Europe.
