Taxonomic Notes: |
Epinotia columbia (Kearfott, 1904) is elevated from synonymy of Epinotia crenana [3324] (extralimital) in R. L. Brown's unpublished Master’s thesis with new status formalized in Brown (2005). This species is represented at BOLD by two BINs, BOLD:AAF0407, likely "true" crenana, and BOLD:AAE1754, likely an undescribed cryptic species (Gilligan et al. 2020); the latter possibly refers to albidorsana Kearfott, originally described as a variety of columbia (M. Sabourin, pers. comm., 2023). Compare lectotypes of in references. |
