Distribution: Alaska south to southern California and east to Saskatchewan (BOLD). Colorado and British Columbia (pulsatillana), California (siskiyouensis) (Heinrich 1923). Larva and Host Plants: "Pulsatilla hirsutissima" (pasqueflower), Clematis (Heinrich 1923). Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: pulsatillana Dyar 1903 (Eucosma) - MONA 1983: 3285 ssp. a. pulsatillana Dyar 1903 (Eucosma) - MONA 1983: 3285; Type locality: Foothills at Boulder and Golden, CO pulsatillana siskiyouensis Heinrich 1923 (Eucosma) ssp. b. siskiyouensis Heinrich 1923 (Epinotia); Type locality: Shasta Retreat, Siskiyou Co., CA Note: Originally described as a variety of pulsatillana Dyar, 1903. Taxonomic Notes: Epinotia pulsatillana (Dyar, 1903) includes as a subspecies 3285.1 Epinotia siskiyouensis Heinrich, 1923.
