Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Fagaceae.  Host genera: Quercus.  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: thoraceochrella (Chambers, 1872) (Gelechia) - MONA 1983: 2119 nigrimaculella (Busck, 1903) (Gelechia) thoracochrella; Meyrick, 1925 (Chionodes) missp.; TL: (no type).
