Distribution: ND, MT and NV south to AZ and eastern TX.
Description/
Field Marks:
FWL: 16-19 mm; "First segment of middle tarsus slightly enlarged, 1.5-1.7 X as long as apical four segments" (Lafontaine, 2004).
Similar Species:
  • Richia chortalis FWL: 18-22 mm; "first segment of middle tarsus 3 X as long as apical four segments..." (Lafontaine 2004).

Synonymy:
  • parentalis (Grote, 1879) (Agrotis) - MONA 1983: 10882
      Type locality: Colorado.
  • decipiens (Grote, 1879) (Agrotis)
      Type locality: Colorado.
  • distichoides (Grote, 1883) (Ammoconia)
      Type locality: New Mexico.
  • Taxonomic Notes: Richia parentalis: Includes as a synonym Richia distichoides [10883].
