Noctuidae

© Steve Morris
Synonymy:
  • u-scripta (Smith, 1891) (Mamestra) - MONA 1983: 10261; TL: "Sierra Nevada, California; Nevada County, California".
Note: This name was listed as "uscripta" in Hodges et al. (1983), Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010), and Pohl & Nanz (2023). However, a hyphen is mandated under ICZN Art. 32.5.2.4.3. A "prevailing usage" exception can not be applied under Art. 23.9 because it fails the criteria of Art. 23.9.1.1 and 23.9.1.2; furthermore, per Art. 23.9.6, checklists and indexes do not qualify for determining "prevailing usage".
