Distribution: Canada: BC; USA: WA. Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Rosaceae.  Host genera: Malus Pyrus.  Notes: laef miner on Malus (Eiseman 2020); .  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: malinellus Zeller, 1838 (Yponomeuta) - MONA 1983: [NEW] anomalella (Dufrane, 1960) (Hyponomeuta) malivorella Guenée, 1845 (Yponomeuta) Taxonomic Notes: Yponomeuta malinellus (Zeller, 1838) is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico. Introduced from Europe to western USA. (Unruh et al. 1993).
