Distribution:	USA: NY, NJ, PA, OH, IL, VA, KY, NC, FL, MS, KS, OK, AR, OK, TX (Poole 1995).
Description/ Field Marks:	Forewing length: 16-19 mm with st. line tending to be continuos, not scalloped, at the apex. Flies August and September.
Similar Species:	Cirrhophanus pretiosa (Morrison, 1875) is smaller (forewing length: 13-15 mm) with st. line tending to be scalloped at the apex. On the wing later in the season (April-July). Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:	triangulifer Grote, 1872 (Cirrhophanus) - MONA 1983: 9766; TL: Missouri.
