Similar Species: Clostera ornata (Grote & Robinson, 1868) is nearly identical, though the forewing coastal margin tends to be more bent. Best separated by DNA or genitalia. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: apicalis (Walker, 1855) (Ichthyura) - MONA 1983: 7901 astoriae (Edwards, 1886) (Ichthyura) indentata (Packard, 1864) (Ichthyura) vau Fitch, 1859 (Clostera)
