  • 5183 Blepharomastix pseudoranalis is slightly larger; has labial palp long and beak-like, not short as in ranalis; wings paler than AZ form of ranalis
  • Blepharomastix ranalis from AZ and TX may at least in part include a cryptic species represented by BOLD BIN BOLD:ADF3182, see live image below by Charles Melton.
