Similar Species: Sympistis min Troubridge, 2008 tends to have paler forewings; best separated by dissection. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: subsimplex Dyar 1904 (Oxycnemis) - MONA 1983: 10041 Taxonomic Notes: Sympistis subsimplex was formerly in the genus Oncocnemis (n. comb. in Troubridge (2008)).
