Description/
Field Marks:
Forewings typically with posterior half of both am. and pm. lines poorly defined or absent.
Similar Species:
  • Sympistis meadiana (Morrison, 1875) typically has forewings with both am. and pm. lines reaching the inner margin.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • orbicularis Barnes & McDunnough 1912 (Oxycnemis) - MONA 1983: 10040; Type locality: Eureka, UT
  • Taxonomic Notes: Sympistis orbicularis: Formerly placed in the genus Oxycnemis.
