Taxonomic Notes: Leucania latiuscula Herrich-Schäffer, 1868, a species described from Cuba and now recognized within the North American fauna, was first discovered in the National Key Deer Refuge in the Florida Keys by Jim Troubridge, ZooKeys, 788: 249.
10454 Leucania latiuscula of authors, not Herrich-Schäffer, 1868, the taxon listed in the Hodges 1983 Checklist, is a synonym of 10453.1 Leucania subpunctata, ZooKeys, 40: 157.
