Distribution: Type locality: Jamaica.
Similar Species:

Synonymy: Prodenia latifascia Walker, 1856
Prodenia variolosa Walker, 1857
Taxonomic Notes: Spodoptera latifascia (Walker, 1856) formerly included as a synonym S. cosmioides (Walker, 1858). Pogue (2002) treated cosmiodes [sic] as a the valid name for the South American population following Silvain & Lalanne-Cassou (1997).
