Distribution: "Great Basin, from southern Nevada to the Colorado Plateau in western Colorado." (Troubridge 2008).
Similar Species:
  • Sympistis subsimplex (Dyar, 1904) tends to have darker forewings; best separated by dissection and possibly by the whiter hindwings of males.
