Type locality: Jamaica.

Synonymy: Zygaena achemon Fabricius, 1781
Taxonomic Notes: Cosmosoma achemon (Fabricius, 1781) was tentatively added to the list based on a single specimen from Monroe Co., FL, photographed on 6/10/2021 by Joseph Montes de Oca, a likely stray or stow away. This species is listed as excluded by Schmidt (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023). It's inclusion here is for reference only.
