Type locality: Punta Gorda, FL.
Similar Species:
  • Dasylophia anguina (Smith, 1797) , separated by genitalia and examination of ♂ St8, is not found in Florida.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Taxonomic Notes: Dasylophia puntagorda Slosson, 1892, rev. stat. in Miller et al. (2021), MONA Fascicle 22.1B:226, was previously treated as a synonym of 7957 Dasylophia anguina (Smith, 1797) in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist).
