Synonymy: Itame plumosata Barnes & McDunnough, 1917
Taxonomic Notes: Macaria plumosata (Barnes & McDunnough, 1917), formerly placed in the genus Itame in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) and in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), is returned to genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002).
