Distribution: Utah, Colorado, Sphingidae Taxonomic Inventory. Lectotype: Glenwood Springs, CO. Similar Species: 7810 Sphinx gordius - ranges do not overlap. Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: • Hyloicus oslari Rothschild & Jordan, 1903 Taxonomic Notes: Sphinx oslari (Rothschild & Jordan, 1903), formerly treated as a synonym of 7810 Sphinx gordius Cramer, 1780, is raised to a full species status by Kitching et al. 2018, Biodiversity Data Journal, 6: e22236.
