Similar Species:

Synonymy: Pyrausta xanthocrypta Dyar, 1913
Taxonomic Notes: Loxostegopsis xanthocrypta (Dyar, 1913) may be a name applied to two species, Powell & Opler (2009). The holotype is from Mexico City but specimens from California were included in the type series. BOLD specimens from Texas were identified by Eugene G. Munroe. BOLD specimens from FL were identified by Bernard Landry.
