Distribution: Type locality (truncatellus): Lapponia meridionalis Suecica et Norvegica. Type locality (abtrusellus): [Canada, Ontario], Martin's Falls, Albany River. Type locality (lienigiellus): [Estonia and Latvia] Livonia, Kokenhusen and Morästen. Type locality (rufinalis): [Canada, Ontario], Albany River, Martin's Falls. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: • Chilo truncatellus Zetterstedt, 1839 • Crambus abtrusellus Walker, 1863 • Crambus lienigiellus Zeller, 1843 • Pediasia obtrusella Munroe, 1983 • Hypena rufinalis Walker, [1866] Taxonomic Notes: Pediasia truncatellus (Zetterstedt, 1839) in North America is well separated from the Eurasian population by DNA barcode suggesting specific or subspecific status.
