Distribution: Type locality (panalope): East River, CT. Type locality (acerata): Dade Co., FL. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: • Platytes panalope Dyar, 1917 • Platytes acerata Dyar, 1917 Taxonomic Notes: Xubida panalope (Dyar, 1917) includes as a synonym Platytes acerata Dyar, 1917; "...The present writer places acerata as the junior synonym, even though it has page priority, acting as first reviser under Article 24(a) of the Zoological Code." - Klots (1970)
