Synonymy: |
• Gelechia crescentifasciella Chambers, 1874 |
Taxonomic Notes: |
Compsolechia crescentifasciella (Chambers, 1874): the true identity of crescentifasciella is currently unknown; its placement in the genus Compsolechia has consequently been retained. (Sangmi Lee, pers. comm., 2024)
Caution: USNM Type No. 447 (USNMENT00834895), a female, is erroneously identified as the "holotype" of crescentifasciella and may represent a different species. It is in the type series (apparently all females), but Chambers never designated a holotype. This species is apparently confused with Anacampsis comparanda (Meyrick, 1929) in collections, at BOLD, and on community websites. Whether the two names represent the same species is a question for future study. (Mark Metz, pers. comm., 2024) |
