CT to MB south to VA, KY and KS - Gilligan et al. (2008). |
Larva and Host Plants: |
Cirsium horridulum (yellow thistle), Rosa eglanteria (sweetbriar rose) - Gilligan et al. (2008). |
Similar Species: |
- 2748 Aterpia approximana has ochreous palpi, head and thorax, not mostly gray like H. cyanana. Genitalic dissection is required for confirmation.
