Taxonomic Notes: |
Phtheochroa vulneratana of authors; (not Zetterstedt, 1839), placeholder name in Gilligan & Brown (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023), is a cryptic species mistakenly regarded as the European species Phtheochroa vulneratana (Zetterstedt, 1839) in Powell (1990). The two taxa are well separated by DNA barcode with the latter treated as extralimital to North America in Gilligan et al. (2020). |
