Large Map & Chart Report Errors About Maps
Distribution: Type locality: Fort Davis, TX.
Similar Species:
  • Zelleria ochroplagiata (Braun, 1918)
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy: Zelleria semitincta Meyrick, 1930
Taxonomic Notes: Zelleria semitincta Meyrick, 1930 cannot be at present separated from 2428 Zelleria ochroplagiata (Braun, 1918) and is likely conspecific. Original descriptions do not separate the two, however, the type of semitincta is illustrated by Clarke (1965) and does seem to match the type of ochroplagiata. A specimen with habitus matching the type of ochroplagiata (TL: northern LA) collected by Royal Tyler from northwestern LA was dissected by Terry Harrison. The genitalia matches the illustration of the type of semitincta (TL: western TX) in Clarke (1965). Pending further study, images of both species will be treated as Zelleria ochroplagiata at MPG.
