Similar Species:
  • In southern Texas, 9675.1 Elaphria hypophaea has forewing orbicular and reniform spots obscure and not filled with dark scales as in 9675 E. fusimacula, Jim Troubridge (pers. comm., 21/11/2018)
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • fuscimacula (Grote, 1881) (Hadena) - MONA 1983: 9675
      Type locality: Tallahassee, Florida.
  • Taxonomic Notes: Elaphria fuscimacula (Grote, 1881) is a complex of three species, ZooKeys, 788: 248.
