Distribution: Holotype locality: Rouge Valley, Les Laurentides, QC. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: • Microcoelia retardata Walker, 1861 • Acronicta caesarea Smith, 1905 • Acronycta dissecta Grote & Robinson, 1870 Taxonomic Notes: Acronicta retardata (Walker, 1861) includes as a synonym Acronicta caesarea Smith, 1905 [9252] in Forbes (1954), overlooked syn. in the Hodges 1983 checklist, ZooKeys, 40: 136.
