Distribution: |
P. f. furcilla: Across Canada south to northern range of P. f. australis. P. f. australis: KY, SC and GA southward to Gulf States and westward to eastern TX. Type locality: Massachusetts. |
Seasonality and Size: |
Year round in southern US. June-July in boreal Canada. Wingspan: ssp australis - male ~ 36-44 mm; female ~ 48-50 mm. |
Larva and Host Plants: |
Larch, pine, spruce, and probably other conifers. |
