Similar Species:
  • Very similar in appearance to Amyna bullula - 9069. Forbes (1954) describes A. axis as having a forewing with an even outer margin, while A. bullula's forewing is sharply bent at the middle of the outer margin and concave above.

  • Taxonomic Notes: Amyna stricta (Walker, 1858) is raised from synonymy of 9070 Amyna axis (Walker, 1858) [= 9070 Amyna octo Guenée, 1852 in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist)] to full species status in Lafontaine & Schmidt (2015), ZooKeys, 527: 138. Amyna axis is extralimital to North America.
