Distribution: Texas Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: hippotes of authors; (not Druce, 1889) MISAPPL. Taxonomic Notes: Cobubatha hippotes of authors; (not Druce, 1889) was included in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) as as "true" hippotes based on records from Texas which are now known to be of a related undescribed species (Schmidt et al. 2018).
