  • Plusia putnami Grote, 1873 has a subapical pale spot which does not cross the pm. line.

Synonymy:
  • festucae (Linnaeus, 1758) (Phalaena)
  • Taxonomic Notes: Phalaena festucae Linnaeus, 1758 is provisionally recognized within the North American fauna based on a DNA barcoded specimen collected in Fairbanks, AK by Jason Grant; morphology-based ID is still pending.
