Description/
Field Marks:
In Epidromia rotundata the falcate forewing apex is characteristic of the species and the collar is concolorous or just a shade darker than the thorax. ~ D.L.
Genitalia: Solis (1986).
Similar Species:
  • Epidromia pannosa Guenée, 1852 forewing outer margin is typically straighter, less falcate. Male hind wing outer margin is angled medially, not as rounded. Best separated by the wide prominent yellow streak extending from the cell to the outer margin on the underside of the forewing.
  • Epidromia lienaris (Hübner, 1823) forewing outer margin is typically straighter, less falcate; forewing am. line typically less undulating. Male hind wing outer margin is angled medially, not as rounded. Females are best separated by genitalia.

Synonymy: Epidromia rotundata Herrich-Schäffer, 1869
Epidromia fergusoni Solis, 1986
Taxonomic Notes: Epidromia rotundata Herrich-Schäffer, 1869, formerly a synonym of Epidromia lienaris (Hübner, 1823) in Becker (2001), is treated as a full species with Epidromia fergusoni Solis, 1986 as a new synonym in Lafontaine & Dickel, (2008).
