Distribution: Texas south to Venezuela and the Antilles. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: ceramina (Hübner, [1821]) (Chamyna) imbuta (Walker, 1869) (Thermesia) metaspila (Walker, 1865) (Hypernaria) sera (Walker, 1858) (Plaxia) Taxonomic Notes: Azeta ceramina (Hübner, [1821]) is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico, a specimen collected by Ann Hendrickson from Texas and DNA barcoded.
