Wingspan: ♂ = 52 mm; ♀ = 64 mm (J. Troubridge, pers. comm. 10/02/2022).
Similar Species:
  • Litoprosopus futilis (Grote & Robinson, 1868) is typically smaller

Synonymy:
  • confligens (Walker, [1858]) (Dyops) - MONA 1983: 8559
  • Taxonomic Notes: Litoprosopus confligens (Walker, [1858]), formerly in the family Erebidae, is placed in the subfamily Dyopsinae within the family Noctuidae, revised status in Zahiri et al. (2013), (Lafontaine & Schmidt 2015).
