Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Asteraceae Fabaceae Ranunculaceae Poaceae.  Host genera: Delphinium Erigeron Senecio[unresolved] Thermopsis Triticum.  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: williamsii (Dodge, 1871) (Arctia) - MONA 1983: 8186 ssp. a. williamsii (Dodge, 1871) (Arctia)  determinata (Neumoegen, 1881) (Arctia)  villiamsi Hampson, 1901 (Apantesis) emend.; TL: (no type). ssp. b. tooele Barnes & McDunnough, 1910 (Apantesis)  confluentis Strand, 1919 (Apantesis)  ophir Barnes & McDunnough, 1910 (Apantesis) Taxonomic Notes: Apantesis williamsii (Dodge, 1871) was formerly in the genus Grammia, Systematic Entomology: 41(4): 844-853.
