Distribution: AZ, TX. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Taxonomic Notes: Hypercompe extrema of authors; (not Walker, 1855) is an undescribed, known from southeastern Arizona and the Davis Mountains, Texas, Lafontaine & Schmidt (2015), ZooKeys. 527: 127-147. "True" extrema is extralimital north of Mexico.
