Generic placement follows the treatment of permaculata (Packard, 1872), it's nearest neighbor by DNA barcode, and extrema (Walker, 1855) in Laguerre (2023). This name refers to an undescribed species known from southeastern Arizona and the Davis Mountains, Texas in Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010). "True" extrema is extralimital north of Mexico.
