Similar Species:
  • Macrurocampa gigantea (Barnes & Benjamin, 1924) is larger and unknown east of western New Mexico.

Synonymy:
  • alpina Benjamin 1932 (Litodonta) - MONA 1983: 7973; Type locality: Alpine, TX
  • Taxonomic Notes: Macrurocampa alpina (Benjamin, 1932), n. comb. in Miller et al. (2021), was formerly in the genus Litodonta.
