Distribution: Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, Hildalgo Co., TX. Many records by Blanchard from 1972-1975 with no records since - Miller et al. (2021)
Type locality (roberta): Orizaba, Mexico.
Type locality (placida): Costa Rica.

Taxonomic Notes: Nycterotis roberta (Dyar, 1909) is determined in Miller et al. (2021) to be the true identity of the species listed as "7956 [Pentobesa] valta Schaus, 1901" in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist).
